Dear Juniors and Parents/Guardians,

All juniors are invited to participate in a Virtual Mock ACT and the Preliminary SAT (PSAT). There is no charge to participate. Read below for registration details and important information.

All U.S. colleges accept the ACT and SAT. By participating in these two opportunities, students develop familiarity with both exams. This is helpful when they develop a testing plan with their college counselor in January or February of junior year. (To learn more about the ACT, PSAT, and SAT, visit the Resources page). The PSAT is also the qualifying exam for the National Merit Scholarship Competition.

PSAT | Friday, October 17, 8am or 8:30am

  • Lakeside automatically registers all juniors for this in-person test at school. If the student cannot participate, please have your parent or guardian email info@lakesideschool.site to be removed from the exam roster.
  • Students with College Board approved accommodations for extended time will begin testing at 8am, with check-in at 7:45am. Testing should conclude around 12:15 pm.
  • Students without approved accommodations, which is the majority of students, will begin testing at 8:30am, with check-in at 8:15am. Testing for standard time should end around 11:15am.
  • Additional details regarding location, seat assignment, etc., will be sent directly to the registered student. Also watch for an email from Ms. Aktepy regarding important setup instructions for the digital PSAT.
  • Lunch will be available in the WCC after the exam.

Virtual Mock ACT | Saturday, November 8, 9am-12:30 pm

  • Register here by November 6 at noon.
  • Students who have extended time at Lakeside might qualify for similar accommodations on the ACT. To learn if a student might be eligible, they should contact their case manager. At the start of the testing period, all students will be prompted by the proctor to select their testing format from a dropdown box (Standard Time or 50% Extended Time).
  • About 24 hours before the mock test, the student and parent/guardian will receive instructions and testing information at the emails provided during registration.
  • Lakeside School has selected Revolution Prep, a nationally recognized test prep company, to administer and score the Mock ACT exam. Peer independent schools nationwide have consistently provided positive feedback about their test prep and mock test experiences with Revolution Prep.
  • If a student is unable to participate, visit Revolution Prep’s website for other mock exam opportunities in the area.

If you have any questions, email info@lakesideschool.site.
